Cockroach Extermination

You turn on the kitchen light at night and something darts under the fridge. You open a drawer and a cockroach scurries out. One of your tenants calls you, panicked.

Seeing one cockroach means dozens are hiding. A single German cockroach female can produce 300,000 descendants in a year. Every day you wait, the problem multiplies.

Why cockroaches are so hard to eliminate — and what we do differently

Cockroaches are among the most resilient insects on the planet. They develop resistance to insecticides, hide in inaccessible places (behind appliances, inside walls, under sinks) and reproduce at an alarming rate. Over-the-counter bug bombs scatter them without eliminating them. Result: they migrate to other rooms, other units.

Species in the Outaouais

  • German cockroach The most common in our region. Small (12–15 mm), light brown, two dark bands on the thorax. Found in kitchens and bathrooms. Explosive reproduction.
  • American cockroach Larger (35–40 mm), reddish-brown. Prefers damp basements and drains. Less common but impressive in size.

Our approach

  1. Targeted inspection

We identify the species, the hotspots and the scope. The species determines the strategy.

  2. Gel bait treatment

Gel treatments are far more effective than spraying for cockroaches. The gel is ingested, carried back to the nest and shared — it reaches the entire colony, not just the visible individuals.

  3. Residual treatment

Targeted application in cracks, cavities and travel routes.

  4. Follow-up

The German cockroach reproduces in 28 days. We schedule control visits to break the cycle.

Frequently asked questions

  • Does a cockroach mean my home is dirty?

No. Cockroaches seek warmth, moisture and food — even a spotless kitchen can attract them if they find a way in. That said, reducing food and water sources does slow their reproduction.

  • How long does it take to get rid of them?

With professional treatment, you'll see a significant reduction in 1–2 weeks. Complete elimination typically takes 3–6 weeks with follow-up visits, depending on the scope.

  • Are the treatments safe for children?

Yes. Gels and baits are applied in inaccessible spots (cracks, cavities, under appliances). Residual products meet Health Canada standards.

  • My neighbours have cockroaches. Am I at risk?

Absolutely. Cockroaches travel between units through plumbing, electrical conduits and cracks. If your neighbour has them, get your unit inspected.
